I captured this surreal moment early one morning while traveling in the Pacific Northwest. I felt as if I was in a dream…like being returned to a moment long past where time stood still. As I watched the sun slowly rise through the fog, there appeared what seemed to be a mysterious, animate vestige slowly approaching, audibly manifested by the increasing crackle of the frozen grass. To my surprise, amazement, and delight, what suddenly appeared before me, took my breath away. Did this spirit that came before me appear in this place at this time to determine if I was worthy of its perception, and of its message?
